Editorial Review Cape Times: Friday 31st of August'12

Editorial Review of our New Branch @ Horizon Bay published in Cape Times

 on Friday 31st of August'12

Revive Skin Lounge birthed in 2005, once again truly lives up to it's reputation. If you want to be revived from the outside in, Revive's new flagship store in Horizon Bay should be on your red flag list.

Situated in the picturesque Bloubergstrand, with Table Mountain in it's full glory, you can but only wave goodbye to stress. Well, this was my experience when I visited this little piece of paradise one blueish Monday to change my day into a lighter shade of grey.

On my 'menu' was a 90 minute signature Dermalogica facial (yes the one they are famous for) as the entrée. Sanet, the Somatologist warmly welcomed me in the spacious foyer and escorted me to a tranquil treatment room, with beautiful décor yet not overbearing to the senses. Calming music played in the background and soft candle light created the perfect setting. Even the wall paper was simply elegant, the space was a testimony of style.

The pampering kicked off with cleansing my slightly weary skin using steam, exfoliation, extractions (not painful), high frequency (an antibacterial neon light which brings oxygen to the skin) and a multivitamin mask. Knowing that Vitamin C slows done ageing, the small wrinkles under my eyes welcomed the extra nutrition and afterwards my skin felt plump and dramatically smoother.

The main course was served in the form of a hot stone facial massage and a shoulder, arm and foot massage. It was simply delicious. Well needless to say, I had entered the gates of heaven!

On another note, it is a delicate matter how much a client should be spoken to when their objective is relaxation. Sanet is truly sensitive to the customers needs, friendly, discreet, natural yet professional, in step with Karina Els, the founder and owner of Revive. It was so apparent that Karina's top notch and 'nothing is too much trouble' approach permeates through her A-team staff.

Before we continued with the Signature Hot Milk Pedicure, I was graciously offered a cold or hot beverage. After I had sipped on my ice cool lemon water Nerija, the Nail Technician entered the room and commenced with a 75 minute treatment of equal bliss. My feet were soaked, scrubbed, heels filed, toenails and cuticles neatened (much needed after winter) then a deep relaxing foot massage and a peppermint foot mask with electrically heated booties followed! This was the absolute royal  factor. My scalp was deeply massaged, targeting all the pressure points. As for the final touch, my toenails received some paint, I opted for a clear coating keeping winter in mind. Nerija did a sterling job and gave an experience which was the epitome of luxury!

Thank you Revive for never failing to 'raise the bar'. The sky is the limit and I hope this new store will be one of many in the years to come. It has been wonderful to watch you evolve back in 2005 as a Day Spa in West Beach, then relocating due to your rapidly growing clientele to Bayside Mall in 2006 and now taking it to another level opening your flagship store in Blouberg. No wonder you won the Western Cape Retailer of the Year title in 2011 and were honoured as one of the top three finalists at the Professional Beauty Awards in 2011.

Revive never ceases to amaze me, offering an international standard of skin care, luxury, elegance and a fantastic dynamic team I love to be pampered by. I'm equally impressed by the wide range of skin care products they stock such as Nimue, Dermalogica, RegimA, Environ and Vitaderm fitting everyone's pocket.
